Teaching Method for adults
Most of my adults students have studied music before and are comfortable reading music. However, if an adult is motivated, I am delighted to teach beginners. The key is consistent practice, openness to new ideas and the love of music.
I usually start with music theory, technique, and sight reading at the beginning of each lesson. Next, comes concentrating on perfecting current repertoire. I guide each student to assure their progress in solving problems and polishing their pieces. This allows them to acquire a sense of ease and accomplishment.
I have adult only workshops 3-4 times a year so each student can perform in a supportive and relaxed environment. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow music lovers, share stories and experiences.
